Initiation au Bwiti

14 days in the village. Ceremony, discipline, and a clear look at your life, with your own eyes.

Qu'est-ce qu'une initiation au Bwiti ?

Bwiti initiation is not a retreat. It is a door.

It is a traditional process with a structure. It asks three things of you: preparation, humility, responsibility.

Initiation is not entertainment, therapy or a show. It is a door. You don’t come to Gabon for visions. You come for the truth about yourself. You enter a disciplined life shaped by ceremony, lineage and the village, and you leave with a different relationship to your own life.

The work is hard, and nobody does it for you. But a few hours of truth can show you more than ten years of searching.

À qui s'adresse l'initiation ?

L'initiation est destinée aux personnes qui :

  • come for the tradition, and take it seriously;
  • are ready to look at themselves honestly, and to work with their body;
  • are psychologically stable and ready to tell the whole truth about their medical history;
  • accepter la discipline de la vie collective ;
  • understand that this is not a game.

If you come out of curiosity, as a tourist or to experiment, this is not the place for you.

Que se passe-t-il pendant les 14 jours ?

1. Préparation : Ancrage du corps et de l'esprit

You start with the body and the mind. The ceremonial team prepares you, step by step. No rush.

Cela comprend :

  • Préparation diététique
  • Learning how a ceremony works

  • Pratiques de discipline quotidienne et d'ancrage

2. Cérémonie : La Rencontre Avec l'Iboga

The ceremonies take place at night, in the temple, with experienced nganga and musicians. The work is done by day. At night, the medicine confirms and explores.

Cette phase comprend :

  • Instruction rituelle
  • Participation collective
  • Meeting Iboga directly, the Bwiti way

3. Intégration : Le retour à la vie ordinaire

The last days bring you back down to earth. What you saw at night, you now look at in daylight.

Cela comprend :

  • Rythme quotidien avec le village
  • Réflexion et discussion
  • Reprise graduelle des activités habituelles

One road, not three separate steps. Each phase prepares the next.

Quel est le rôle de la cérémonie ?

In Bwiti, ceremony is not symbolic. It is real. Music, rhythm and gesture build the place where the work happens.

You don’t watch. You take part. You don’t learn this from a book. You live it, and you become your own witness.

Screening protects you and everyone in the temple. When we say no, it is a clear no, and it is part of that care.

À quoi ressemble la vie quotidienne pendant l'initiation ?

You live at the rhythm of the village, inside it, not beside it.

La vie comprend :

  • Repas partagés
  • Responsabilités collectives
  • Périodes de repos
  • Temps passé à l'extérieur
  • Time with the people of the village

Integration does not happen only in the temple. It happens at the table, in the chores, in the silence.

Que se passe-t-il après l'initiation ?

Integration continues after you leave. What you saw is yours. So is the decision. Keep your grounding practices, and give yourself real time to adjust.

L'expérience se déroule sur des semaines et des mois. Elle ne s'arrête pas à la dernière cérémonie.

How Do You Begin?

Bwiti initiation asks one thing first: honesty with yourself. If your answer is yes, not maybe, the path has four steps:

1. Written application
2. Pre-interview
3. Medical review: your full medical history and a recent ECG
4. Our answer: a clear yes or no
