Contexte juridique et réglementaire
1. L'Iboga est-il légal au Gabon ?
Oui.
Your own country is another question. Iboga and ibogaine are controlled substances in several countries, including France and the United States. Iboga never leaves the village: it is not sold, and it is not given to take home. Check the law of the countries you live in and of every country you travel through. This is not legal advice.
Initiation is not a medical treatment. It is initiation into a tradition. We do not diagnose, and we promise no cure: the medicine shows you what is real, the work is yours.
Detox is different. Iboga is known across the world for what it does against addiction, and many see it as the most powerful detox there is. That is exactly why detox is never mixed with initiation: it has its own screening, medical supervision throughout, close follow-up, and guides trained specifically for this work. If you are coming for an addiction, tell us from the very first contact.
In every case, we accept only people whose health allows them to take part safely.
Considérations de sécurité et de santé
Safety starts long before the ceremony, and it starts with the truth. Iboga acts on the heart’s rhythm and interacts with many medications, including some antidepressants. So you tell us everything: your full medical history, your psychological background, every medication you take. You provide a recent ECG (electrocardiogram). Hide something here, and the one you put at risk is you. Certain conditions exclude participation.
During ceremonies, experienced nganga and musicians are there all night. You are never left alone. The elders adjust the process to each person. After ceremony come the integration days: the body and the mind settle before you go back to ordinary life.
Within Bwiti, one does not replace the other. Iboga is a sacrament, received whole, prepared and shared within ceremony, music and community. A real medicine has a history. An isolated molecule, however well studied, leaves that history behind. At Moughenda Village we work only with Iboga, within its tradition.
Informations pratiques
6. Comment savoir si je suis prêt ?
Ready does not mean without fear. Ready means honest, stable and committed. So ask yourself: are you coming for the truth, or for an experience? Can you disclose your full health history? Are you ready for demanding work and for the discipline of collective life? If the answer is yes, you are ready to apply. The pre-interview is where we answer this question together.
7. Que se passe-t-il après ma candidature ?
The whole process has four steps, in this order:
And yes, we refuse people: for medical contraindications, for ethical misalignment, for the wrong intent (coming for visions, or to get high). A refusal protects everyone, you included. Demander un pré-entretien.
